Jack and Pals Therapy Dogs

Our aim, at Jack and Pals Therapy Dogs, is to provide companionship, friendship and spread happiness to all we visit.  This may be in a school, hospital, hospice, care home, nursing home, a day care centre or a business setting.  We visit with our own dogs, who have been temperament assessed and then insured and registered with Jack and Pals Therapy dogs as being suitable dogs to carry the title of therapy dog.

Our mission

Jack and Pal’s mission is to bring the exceptional benefits of dogs to people in different settings, through its therapy dog programs.

We focus on providing therapy dogs, free of charge, to any organisation who needs a bit of therapy.

We keep our membership cost low and all uniforms for volunteer members and canine pals is at cost.  We are a not-for-profit members organisation working throughout the country. We meet regularly to share our ideas, experiences and knowledge to build our group.

Therapy Dog Programmes

Jack and Pals provides insured and assessed registered therapy dogs and their handlers to visit and interact with people in various settings

All our therapy dog teams are assessed and proficient with some volunteers having extensive experience in visiting with other organisations.  Their dogs are well experienced in handing out love, waggy tails and smiles.

We also work with schools and libraries to implementing our "School Pals" programme, where children read a story book to our dogs or where children listen with our dogs whilst our volunteer members read a story for pleasure. Our dogs are non-judgmental but love it when children's fluency, expression, vocabulary and confidence increase.

The Yorkshire Vet programme - 18th December 2025
Miracle On Stoneybrough Farm

We were featured in this special Christmas episode of The Yorkshire Vet with vet Peter Wright, Mr and Mrs Green and the children from All Saints Primary School in Thirsk.

Mrs Green realised that Peter wasn't quiet in the Christmas spirit and with the help of some amazing volunteers they endevoured to get him in the right frame of mind for Christmas.

A lovely young lady, Amelia, along with Mrs Green, baked some amazing home made dog treets for three of our wonderful dogs, Tom, Lola and Alf.  The therapy dogs, along with her owners Faye, Maria and Wendy went to All Saints Primary School to delivery the treats with Peter Wright.

A few weeks later we all met at Mr and Mrs Green's farm, along with others who had taken part in the planning to surprise Mr and Mrs Green with a few carols and deep thanks.

These are some of the stills of our days filming.  If you want to watch the full programme, please head over to the channel 5 page and find our programme.
