Once we receive your form, we will contact the nearest volunteer and establish if they are able to take on your request.
The volunteer will then contact you via the email and phone number you gave to us, we do not give out any details of our volunteers.
What happens next
Once your first visit has been confirmed by our team, we will then send you our documentation to inform you what to expect on a visit from our amazing team.
This will include;
- Our guidance handbook for visits
- A copy of our insurance
- A sample risk assessment for visit.

About our canine Pals
All our dogs undergo assessment and you can see on this page what our assessment of our canine pals involves. https://www.jackandpals.org/our-assessment/
Our volunteeres also provide vaccination or titre test certificates to us for their dogs inline with the World Veterinary Organisation. We hold them on record so you do not have to request this information.
We also ask that our dogs are flea and worm treated by their owners by either herbal methods or medicinally. All volunteers confirm their dogs are fit and healthy for visiting.
About our volunteers
All new volunteers are also asked to provide character references and proof of identity.
Our volunteers are not DBS checked. If your setting requires one, it must be carried out by you. We do ask for a declaration to say there is no reason why you can not visit young people and vulnerable adults at the time of your application.
We ask you to have a member of staff with our volunteers at all time to safeguard their visits. We ask our visiting volunteers to undergo basic safeguarding awareness before commencing visit.
Dogs and owners must show a good working relationship and have been together for around 6 months.
If you have any questions about our pals visiting, please email admin@jackandpals.org and we will endeavour to assist you before your first visit.
