If your child is between 7 and 17, they can become a Junior Pal. Before then, they maybe a little too young to be able to visit some of our pals in care homes, hospitals and at events. At 17, they can apply to be a full pal. They do have a uniform and an ID badge with their therapy dog.
7 - 17 years
An adult visiting member must accompany Junior Pals on their visits to comply with insurance and safeguarding. Adult Pals do not need to visit with a dog on their own, but can just register with us to accompany the Junior Pal on their visits.
With an adult
At Jack and Pals Therapy Dogs we want to encourage and support our Junior members with their own adults, so we have made their membership free. We value their work and hope as they grow with our organisation they will become full members when they turn 17.

Hi, My name is Milena and I am eleven years old. I live in Morpeth, Northumberland with my mum, dad and little wild sister, Rosa who is four and our family dog Bertie.
My therapy dog is Alf. Alf is a Welsh collie dog who is nine years old and lives with my Grandma and Grandad in North Yorkshire They also have Jack, Ted and Billy (more Collie dogs!). I have always loved spending time with my grandma and grandad, we go on lots of dog walks and my grandma always organises fun dog activities, like agility and mantrailing.
Alf howls a lot! He thinks he's a wolf and he's nearly as noisy and crazy as my sister. Alf is very playful and loves attention. We have a great friendship and this makes us a good partnership for therapy dog visiting.
I visit a care home in Leeming Bar with Alf as a Junior Pal with Jack and Pals Therapy Dogs. I visit all the residents so that they can spend time with Alf. I like to chat to the residents, because I love talking. I love being a Junior Pal for Jack and Pals Therapy Dogs because I get to spend time with Alf and my grandma. I like to meet new people and listen to the stories that the elderly residents tell me. They make me laugh and they are so kind.
In my spare time, I love to spend time crafting new things on my sewing machine. I am learning to make clothes and have started making ragdolls. I also go to Scouts and enjoy spending time outdoors and taking part in new adventures.
